NEW   LIFE   COMMUNITY   CHURCH

"We exist to experience and share the grace and power of New Life in Christ!"

We have new NLCC Board of Director Members that will be taking their vows this month.  Please meet one of them; Bobby Sheets.  If you don’t know  Bobby, please introduce yourself to him and I guarantee, you won’t forget that outgoing and bigger than life personality!  Bobby is a no nonsense kind of guy with a huge heart for the Lord!

Bobby was born in Salina, Kansas and born into a military family (Air Force), so his family moved quite a bit during his growing up years.  Bobby and his family landed in Atwater in 1970 and  he has been here ever since.  He graduated high school at Atwater High in 1977; attended Merced College, CSU Stanislaus and Chapman earning him a BA in Psychology and a teaching credential in Home Economics.  He currently teaches at Turlock High School and has been an employee there for 5 years.

Bobby is married to his lovely wife of 18 years, Patti.  They have 4 children; Michael, Bret, Allie and Megan.  He and Patti are also grandparents to 11 year old Christopher (son of Michael).  When talking about his family, Bobby lights up, and in his words, “family is the most important thing in my life.”

When asked what his hobbies, interests or passions are, he responds, “Basketball is probably my passion...I coach the JV team at Turlock High.”  Simply, he just loves sports!  Now how many of you gentlemen can relate to that?

Bobby accepted Christ when he was around 12 years old, and rededicated his life to Christ 7-8 years ago.  He has attended New Life Community Church since it’s inception.  When asked what his favorite verse is, he responded “Every time I read one, it’s my favorite!”  Wow, that is something to ponder, and I’m hoping personally, I remember to feel that way when I read God’s Word.

I asked Bobby what God has done in his life in the past or recently and Bobby replied, “He’s given me peace with my life...I don’t go nuts...I know He’s going to take care of me.”

“Be still, and know that I am God…”   Psalm 46:10
